Fat Loss Tips February 12th, 2008
- eat 5-6 small meals a day - this will in fact increase your metabolism by keeping up your body’s fuel supply. Also, digesting food requires calories. Continuously supplying your body while forcing it to break down foods will raise your metabolism and burn fat.
- cardio in the morning - when you wake in the morning, your body lacks glycogen, it’s preferred fuel source. When there’s not glycogen, your body turns to body fat, your back up fuel source. Do low intensity cardio for about 10 minutes every morning before breakfast.
- train with weights
- eat more protein - it takes calories to convert protein into energy. Eat more protein, use more calories.
The biggest concern with both men and women is fat loss. Fat is that gooey stuff that seems to forever stick to the most obvious places on your body (like your hips or stomach). Not only is it not attractive, but it’s not healthy.
More importantly, most people are going about losing fat in the wrong way. When people notice excess fat and want to get rid of it, they want to get rid of it right away. This usually means trying the latest diet fad that they have read about in some tabloid or online. To be frank, most diets, by themselves, DO NOT WORK! They are, in fact, counter-productive and can even be dangerous.
In order to burn fat in a healthy manner, here’s what I recommend:
No matter what you do, you do need to watch what you eat. This is healthy dieting, unlike depriving yourself of food for days on end. Don’t go that route. No matter how much cardio you do or how often you go to the gym, if you are not supplying your body with the right fuels, you will not see any results. But if you stick with it and have patience, I guarantee you will see the desired results!
